Maitreya Universal Education Project

The Maitreya Universal Education Project (MUEP) offers free education to village children from poor families in northern India. In addition to academic achievement, MUEP offers a unique curriculum emphasising ethical and spiritual development as well as academic achievement.

A pilot school, the Maitreya Project Universal Education School, is already established in Bodhgaya, the place of the Buddha's enlightenment, located in Bihar state, northern India.

Currently, the MUEP School in Bodhgaya is actively training teachers to be our first staff members at a MUEP School planned for Kushinagar.

Further developments offering primary, secondary and vocational education are planned for Bodhgaya and Kushinagar in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
