Where does the money come from?

The funds to run the school are donated by individual sponsors from around the world. All the funds donated for the school benefit the school directly and only the school.

Maitreya Project International also supports the school by assisting with management expenses and capital development.

What does it cost?

Average monthly expenditure for the period 2002-2003 was US$4,000 of which approximately 37% was allocated to staff salaries. At the current level of expenditure, the cost to educate each child is around US$120 per year.

Management and Accounting

All aspects of the project are managed in accordance with Act XXI of 1860 for Literary, Scientific and Charitable socities in Bihar state, being the act under which the project is registered. Accounts are audited annually by Walker Chandiok, New Delhi, operating under the imprimatur of Grant, Thornton and Byrne (UK).
